When Charlie founded Bob Rich Trucking in 1959 and soon thereafter merged Schroeder Trucking into Bob Rich Schroeder Trucking, he continued his philosophy that innovation would build his market base. When he convinced a large customer to store and distribute their products from warehouses instead of directly off the piers in San Francisco, he founded Peppertree Warehouse & Distribution Corporation, realizing that inventing better ways to do things on behalf of customers would win their loyalty & trust for years to come. 

This involvement within the transportation community propelled his knowledge and awareness into larger networks that worked towards bettering the industry. Mr. Ramorino has served the industry community as president of the distinguished California Trucking Association, President of the Western Highway Institute, and as Chairman of the American Trucking Association. He is currently on the Board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C, and a Trustee & Chairman of the Board of the St. Rose Hospital in Hayward California.

Robert Ramorino
President

Bob learned the trucking industry literally from the ground up. He learned how to drive a truck at the age of 12, and after graduating from University of Santa Clara with a BS degree is business management, prepared himself to take over the reigns of the company that his dad had built. His dad Charlie has always been his most important mentor. Bob continued with the belief that giving to the industry would offer bountiful returns, and remains active with the American Trucking Association (ATA), International Warehouse and Logistics Association (IWLA), and the California Trucking Association (CTA) of which he is 2009 Chairman of the Board and past president (2008). He has chaired committees and taskforces at CTA including Environmental Policy, Highway Policy, and Worker’s Compensation task force. Bob’s activity in industry affairs keeps him on the forefront of transportation challenges and solutions for the future.
